November 20, 2018

Hello and Welcome to the Quest Newsletter,

Last Monday there was no school because of Veterans Day! I hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend and thought about the veterans that keep our country safe and sound. The Middle School would like to acknowledge all the military families in Quest, and give them a big thank you!

On Friday, November 9th, the Middle School went to a Montessori inclusion conference hosted by Inly Montessori School. This trip was very educational and a positive experience that will stick with us. At the conference we were divided into groups and attended workshops of our choice. Some of the topics were the game of life, cooking with dough, African dance, history of immigration, lgbtq… alphabet soup, and more. Each lesson was very well thought out, fun, and had many  wonderful learning tools. Read more about this experience on last week’s Quest Blog.

Microbusiness

Last Tuesday marked a big occasion for Middle School. We made the first of the candles for the microbusiness. The process was measuring the wax by weight, melting it, adding the scent at 185 degrees, and cooling to 145 degrees before pouring the melted wax into the containers.

Peace Night at Quest

Last Thursday we had a wonderful Peace Night attended by Quest families and other community members. The middle school students presented highlights of what we learned during the peace and nonviolence studies block. We had guest speakers come in and college students training to be teachers watching. Here are some pictures from the event.
